5 Ways to Enjoy Labor Day in Orlando
August 28, 2015
Although school is already back in session, many families still have a last holiday to look forward to before officially accepting that summer vacation is over. Labor Day is a big deal in Orlando as it is the last holiday before we really start seeing a significant decrease in tourism. So, if you have the chance to come enjoy a “last-chance” vacation with us at staySky Suites I-Drive Orlando we want to make sure you get the best of it. Here are a few of the things we suggest you do besides going to theme parks, which is a given when coming to Orlando:
Every Sunday you have the chance to enjoy a day outdoors by beautiful Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando.
The Orlando Farmers Market is much more than your traditional farmers market, because it’s not only a market but a fun and vibrant event. They have the fresh produce that fresh markets are known for, but they also have baked goods, crafts, gifts, jewelry, plants and more. There are often musical performers, people playing sports, doing yoga, riding paddle boats and just strolling around with their families and pets.
Florida Dolphin Tours is your guide and transportation to the best the Sunshine State has to offer! They offer dolphin encounter tours, but also many other excursion options to make your vacation unique. If you have a few days free, you should definitely visit their website and check out the great tours they have to offer.
Located in charming Winter Park, the Wine Room showcases over 156 hand-selected wines that can be sampled by 1oz, 2.5oz or 5oz pour sizes. You buy a refillable card for $3 and add money to the card, then you get a wine glass and are free to browse around and check out which wine speaks to your taste buds. It is so much fun! You simply choose a wine, place your glass under the dispenser, choose your size and voilá. Each size is labeled with how much the dose will cost off your card, so it ranges from $2- $8 for your average choice depending on the size.
They now also offer new “Flute” machine for sampling Champagnes. If you really enjoy a wine, you can purchase it right there! All wines are available to purchase. They don’t offer a full menu, but they have artisan cheeses and a new tapas-style menu! The Wine Room has recently been given “Best of Award of Excellence” from the Wine Spectator.
The Frozen phenomenon is still much alive, so if you have a little one that is a Frozen fan you can’t miss this spectacle! This monumental ice skating show is coming to the Amway Center in Orlando from September 4 – 6, 2015 for six performances.
