Have a cool summer in Orlando

 July 3, 2017

Summer in Florida is a paradise for all the beach goers, sunshine lovers and theme park enthusiasts, but the sun can also be VERY strong that time a year. So, if you are coming to spend some time at staySky Suites I-Drive Orlando this HOT summer season, here are a few of our suggestions:

Visit the water parks: All theme parks in Orlando are wonderful and you should make sure to visit as many as possible during your visit. But the gold medal during summer has got to go the water parks. Disney has Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach; Universal Orlando has just debuted brand-new Volcano Bay; and SeaWorld has Aquatica!  There are so many water parks in town and they are so much fun that there is no reason you should skip them or visit just one. You will be seriously glad to spend a relaxing day on the lazy river, cooling off at the wave pool and experiencing the most adventurous water slides out there!

Book Fastpass+ wisely: If visiting Disney, make sure to book your Fastpasses+ to the water rides. Everyone will want to cool off, so water rides like Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids will have extremely long lines!

Invest in a fan: Buy a portable splash fan to be shared among the family. If you are taking a stroller you can just store it on the stroller anyway, so it won’t even be an inconvenience to carry it. These little fans can be so helpful when the sun is at peak and you are walking miles and miles a day.

Have LOTs of pool time: Schedule some leisure time around the pool and relax. There is nothing more calming and cooling than knowing that you have nowhere to be and can just sit on our brand-new loungers sipping on a cold drink while enjoying the Florida landscape around you.

Stay hydrated: This should go without saying, but drink plenty of fluids. You will be losing lots of water through perspiration, so bring your water bottle everywhere!

Have lighter snacks: Enjoy snacks like watermelon, cucumber with hummus, or air-popped chips. You don’t want to feel sluggish during the hotter days; so, lighter snacks will keep your energy levels balanced without bringing you down. Plus, if you have fruits and veggies with a high water content, that’ll also help to keep you hydrated.
